About the Role:
A high-performing bilingual public charter school in Stockton, California is seeking a dynamic and dedicated Middle School Science Teacher for the 2025–2026 academic year. This school offers a dual-language (English/Spanish) immersion program, with a mission to develop biliterate, critical thinkers who are college-bound and community-minded.
This is an ideal opportunity for educators who are passionate about inquiry-based science instruction and believe in the power of bilingual education. The school is open to hiring international teachers through the ConnectUS J-1 Teacher Visa Program, with all visa fees covered by the school. Support for obtaining California state teacher certification is also provided.
Key Responsibilities:

Teach science to middle school students (grades 6–8) using both English and Spanish

Design and implement hands-on, standards-aligned science lessons across life, physical, and earth sciences

Create a classroom environment that promotes curiosity, experimentation, and scientific thinking

Differentiate instruction for diverse learners and varying language proficiencies

Use assessments and data to inform instruction and monitor student growth

Collaborate with colleagues on interdisciplinary projects and school-wide initiatives

Maintain open communication with families to support student learning and development

Participate in school events, professional development, and collaborative planning sessions
Requirements:
Education:

Bachelor’s degree in Science, Education, or a related field (Master’s preferred)
Experience:
-
At least two years of full-time middle school science teaching experience
-
Experience in bilingual or dual-language education is a strong advantage
Skills & Qualifications:

Fluency in both English and Spanish (required)

Knowledge of NGSS (Next Generation Science Standards) and inquiry-based teaching strategies

Strong classroom management and student engagement techniques

Culturally responsive teaching practices

Tech-savvy and able to integrate digital tools into instruction

Hold a degree equivalent to a U.S. bachelor’s in education or a science-related field

Have valid teaching credentials from your home country
