A dynamic public middle school is seeking a passionate and engaging French-speaking Social Studies Teacher for the 2026–2027 academic year. This role is ideal for an educator who is fluent in French and experienced in teaching history, geography, civics, or related social sciences at the middle school level.

The ideal candidate will inspire students to think critically about historical and contemporary global issues while fostering cultural awareness and international-mindedness through French language integration.


Key Responsibilities

  • Teach Middle School Social Studies while incorporating French language elements into instruction where appropriate.

  • Develop engaging, standards-aligned lessons that promote inquiry, debate, and analytical thinking.

  • Integrate global perspectives and cross-cultural understanding into curriculum content.

  • Differentiate instruction to meet diverse academic needs and learning styles.

  • Use assessment data to monitor student progress and adjust instruction accordingly.

  • Foster a respectful, structured classroom environment that encourages discussion and intellectual curiosity.

  • Collaborate with colleagues to align curriculum and interdisciplinary learning opportunities.

  • Maintain consistent communication with families regarding student growth and achievement.

  • Participate actively in professional development and contribute to school-wide initiatives.


Requirements

Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Education, History, Social Studies, Political Science, International Relations, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).

Experience:
Minimum of 2 years of teaching experience at the middle school level preferred.

Language Proficiency:
Fluency in French (written and spoken) and strong English communication skills.

  • Strong knowledge of social studies content and curriculum standards.

  • Experience using discussion-based and inquiry-driven instructional approaches.

  • Ability to connect historical content to modern global contexts.

  • Effective classroom management and differentiation strategies.

  • Passion for cultural exchange, global citizenship, and bilingual engagement.


For International Applicants

Successful non-U.S. citizens will be applying through the ConnectUS J-1 Teacher Visa program.

Additional qualifications include:

  • A degree equivalent to a U.S. bachelor’s degree in education or a related subject.

  • Teaching qualifications in your home country for secondary education.

  • At least two years of full-time teaching experience.

  • Proficiency in English.

  • Strong professional references and reputation.


Visa Sponsorship

This position is eligible under the J-1 Teacher Visa program. The visa process is fully supported and managed in partnership with ConnectUS. The school will cover the cost of a three year visa.
