About the Role

A public charter school network in Brooklyn is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Elementary School Teacher for the 2026–2027 school year. This position is open to both U.S.-based and international educators through the ConnectUS J-1 Teacher Visa Program.


Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver rigorous, standards-aligned instruction across core subject areas

  • Design engaging lessons that promote foundational academic skills, curiosity, and critical thinking

  • Differentiate instruction to meet the needs of diverse learners

  • Foster a structured, nurturing, and inclusive classroom environment

  • Build strong relationships with students and families to support student growth

  • Use formative and summative assessments to monitor progress and inform instruction

  • Implement positive classroom management strategies aligned with school culture

  • Collaborate with grade-level teams on curriculum planning and instructional strategies

  • Participate in professional development, instructional coaching, and school-wide initiatives


Requirements

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education, Education, or a related field

  • Degree must be equivalent to a U.S. bachelor’s degree

Experience

  • Minimum of two years of full-time teaching experience preferred

  • Experience teaching at the elementary level strongly preferred

Skills & Qualifications

  • Strong understanding of elementary instructional best practices

  • Ability to deliver engaging, student-centered instruction

  • Strong classroom management and communication skills

  • Ability to differentiate instruction for diverse learners

  • Comfort using instructional technology and assessment platforms

  • Experience with inquiry-based learning, project-based learning, or literacy-rich classrooms preferred

  • Familiarity with restorative practices or social-emotional learning frameworks is a plus

Additional eligibility requirements include:

  • A degree equivalent to a U.S. bachelor’s degree in education or a related subject

  • Valid teaching qualifications from your home country

  • At least two years of full-time teaching experience

  • English language proficiency

  • Strong professional references and professional standing
