About the Role
A well-established independent school on the Upper West Side of New York City is seeking a dedicated Elementary Learning Specialist to support students in Grades 1–4 for the 2026–2027 academic year.
This role is ideal for an educator who is passionate about supporting students with diverse learning needs and helping them develop strong academic skills, learning strategies, and confidence. The Learning Specialist will work closely with teachers, students, and families to provide individualized support and ensure students have the tools they need to succeed.

Key Responsibilities

Provide small-group instruction and targeted support for students in the Learning Center.

Offer push-in classroom support to assist teachers and students during lessons.

Collaborate with grade-level teams to support differentiated instruction and best practices.

Help students develop learning strategies, metacognitive skills, and self-advocacy.

Provide enrichment and differentiation opportunities for students requiring additional challenge.

Participate in Learning Center team meetings and contribute to program development.

Maintain open communication with teachers and families regarding student progress.

Assist with administrative responsibilities related to learning support programs.

Qualifications
Education:
Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree or equivalent experience preferred.

Work Schedule
Typical hours are 7:30 AM – 3:45 PM, with occasional evening commitments. Faculty meetings are held on Thursdays from 3:45 PM – 5:00 PM.
