A public charter school in California is seeking a dedicated and experienced Bilingual Special Education Teacher (English/Spanish) for the 2026–2027 academic year. This role focuses on supporting students with diverse learning needs through individualized instruction, collaboration with general education teachers, and the effective implementation of IEPs in both English and Spanish.

Fluency in both English and Spanish is required.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver specialized instruction aligned to students’ Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)

  • Provide academic and behavioral support to students with diverse learning needs

  • Support instruction in both English and Spanish, based on student needs

  • Collaborate closely with general education teachers to implement accommodations and modifications

  • Monitor student progress using data and adjust instruction accordingly

  • Participate in IEP meetings, progress monitoring, and required documentation

  • Implement inclusive, culturally responsive, and trauma-informed teaching practices

  • Foster a safe, structured, and supportive learning environment

  • Communicate effectively with families and caregivers

  • Participate in professional development, team meetings, and school-wide initiatives

Requirements

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Special Education, Education, or a related field

  • Degree must be equivalent to a U.S. bachelor’s degree

  • Master’s degree in Special Education preferred

Experience

  • Minimum of two years of full-time teaching experience

  • Experience in Special Education required

  • Experience in bilingual or dual-language settings strongly preferred

Skills & Qualifications

  • Fluency in English and Spanish (required)

  • Strong understanding of special education instructional strategies and IEP implementation

  • Ability to differentiate instruction and support diverse learning needs

  • Strong classroom management, collaboration, and communication skills

  • Comfort using educational technology for instruction and progress monitoring
