About the Role
Damon Independent School District in Damon, Texas is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Secondary Subject Teacher (Math, ELA, Science, Social Studies etc) for the 2026–2027 academic year.
This role is ideal for an educator who is passionate about their subject area and committed to helping students succeed academically while building critical thinking, communication, and problem-solving skills. The successful candidate will create engaging lessons that inspire students and support their development both inside and outside the classroom.
Key Responsibilities

Plan and deliver engaging lessons in the assigned subject area aligned with Texas state standards (TEKS).

Create a positive and structured classroom environment that supports student learning and participation.

Use a variety of instructional strategies to engage students and support different learning styles.

Monitor and assess student progress and adjust instruction to support academic growth.

Provide clear feedback to students to help them strengthen their understanding of course material.

Collaborate with colleagues and school leadership to support curriculum development and student success.

Communicate regularly with families regarding student progress and classroom expectations.

Participate in professional development and contribute to a positive and supportive school culture.
Qualifications
-
Bachelor’s degree in Education or the relevant subject area.

Valid teaching certification or eligibility to obtain certification in Texas.

Minimum of 2 years of teaching experience preferred, particularly at the secondary level.

Strong knowledge of subject-specific content and curriculum.

Effective classroom management and communication skills.

Commitment to supporting student learning and achievement.

Additional qualifications include:

A degree equivalent to a U.S. bachelor’s degree in Education or the relevant subject area.

Teaching credentials in your home country for secondary education.

At least two years of full-time teaching experience or equivalent qualifications.
