A school district in Mart, Texas is seeking a passionate and dedicated 5th Grade Science Teacher for the 2026–2027 academic year.

This is an excellent opportunity for an educator who enjoys helping students explore the natural world and develop strong scientific thinking skills. The ideal candidate will create engaging, hands-on science lessons that encourage curiosity, experimentation, and a deeper understanding of scientific concepts.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver engaging 5th grade science lessons aligned with Texas state standards (TEKS).

  • Use hands-on experiments, inquiry-based learning, and real-world connections to make science exciting and accessible for students.

  • Create a positive and structured classroom environment that supports student learning and participation.

  • Assess student progress and use data to guide instruction and support student growth.

  • Differentiate instruction to support a variety of learning styles and abilities.

  • Collaborate with grade-level teachers and school leadership to strengthen curriculum and instructional practices.

  • Communicate regularly with families regarding student progress and classroom activities.

  • Participate in professional development and contribute to a supportive school culture.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Education, Science, or a related field.

  • Valid teaching certification or eligibility to obtain certification in Texas.

  • Minimum of 2 years of teaching experience preferred.

  • Passion for teaching science and encouraging curiosity in young learners.

  • Strong classroom management and communication skills.

  • Ability to create engaging and interactive lessons for elementary students.

Additional qualifications include:

  • A degree equivalent to a U.S. bachelor’s degree in Education, Science, or a related subject.
