About the Role:

This charter school is an innovative and progressive institution in Brooklyn, seeking a passionate and dedicated Middle School Math Teacher for the 2025 school year. This is an exciting opportunity for an educator who loves mathematics and is committed to helping students develop critical thinking and problem-solving skills. The ideal candidate will bring enthusiasm, creativity, and a student-centered approach to the classroom, fostering a love for math while ensuring all students feel confident and capable.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement engaging math lessons that align with state standards and promote conceptual understanding.
  • Use a variety of teaching strategies, including hands-on activities, real-world applications, and technology-based learning.
  • Differentiate instruction to support students at varying levels of mathematical proficiency.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages curiosity, perseverance, and collaboration.
  • Assess student progress regularly and provide meaningful feedback to support growth.
  • Communicate with parents and guardians to discuss student progress and strategies for success.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop interdisciplinary projects and school-wide initiatives.
  • Participate in professional development and contribute to the school’s continuous improvement efforts.

 


Requirements:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Education, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
  • Experience: Minimum of 2 years of teaching experience at the middle school level.
  • Skills:
  • Strong content knowledge in middle school mathematics, including pre-algebra and algebra.
  • Ability to make math engaging and accessible to diverse learners.
  • Excellent communication and classroom management skills.
  • Experience using technology to enhance instruction.
  • Passion for fostering critical thinking and problem-solving skills in students.

Additional qualifications include:

  • A degree equivalent to a U.S. bachelor’s degree in education or a related subject.

  • Teaching qualifications in your home country for primary or secondary schools.

  • At least two years of full-time teaching experience or equivalent qualifications.

  • Proficiency in English.

  • Strong character and professional reputation.
