Position: Bilingual Montessori Teacher (Spanish-English)
Location: Washington, D.C.
Start Date: August 2025

A well-established public charter Montessori school in Washington, D.C., is seeking a passionate and experienced bilingual Montessori-trained teacher to join its growing immersion program for the 2025–2026 school year.

This is a unique opportunity to work in an innovative, equity-driven environment that nurtures the whole child through culturally responsive Montessori pedagogy. The school is committed to creating a bilingual, bicultural learning space that reflects the diversity of its community.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead a dual-language (Spanish-English) Montessori classroom in alignment with the school’s mission and values
  • Develop and implement developmentally appropriate Montessori lessons in both languages
  • Foster a nurturing and inclusive environment that supports academic, social, and emotional growth
  • Collaborate with a co-teacher and instructional team to deliver immersive, high-quality instruction
  • Engage with families and the wider school community in a culturally competent manner

Qualifications:

  • Montessori certification (AMI/AMS/MACTE-accredited) at the Primary or Elementary level
  • Proficiency in both Spanish and English (native or near-native fluency required in at least one)
  • Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree in Education or related field preferred
  • Experience working in a Montessori environment, particularly in a bilingual or immersion setting
  • Strong commitment to equity, social justice, and anti-bias/anti-racist education

Non-U.S. citizens are welcome to apply through the ConnectUS J-1 Teacher Visa program. Chilean candidates are eligible for the H-1B1 visa.

Additional qualifications include:

  • A degree equivalent to a U.S. bachelor’s degree in special education or a related field.
  • Teaching credentials in your home country for primary or secondary education.
  • At least two years of full-time teaching experience or equivalent qualifications.
  • Proficiency in English.
  • Strong character and professional reputation.
