About the Role
A school district in Mart, Texas is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic High School English Teacher for the 2026–2027 academic year.
This is an exciting opportunity for an educator who is passionate about literature, writing, and helping students develop strong communication and critical thinking skills. The ideal candidate will create engaging lessons that inspire students to explore a range of literary works while strengthening their analytical reading and writing abilities.
Key Responsibilities

Plan and deliver engaging high school English lessons aligned with Texas state standards (TEKS).

Teach a range of literature, writing, grammar, and language skills to support student academic growth.

Encourage critical thinking, discussion, and analytical writing through the study of diverse texts.

Create a positive and structured classroom environment that promotes student engagement and participation.

Assess student progress and use data to guide instruction and support improvement.

Differentiate instruction to support a range of learning abilities and needs.

Provide constructive feedback to help students develop strong writing and communication skills.

Collaborate with colleagues and school leadership to strengthen curriculum and instructional practices.

Communicate regularly with families regarding student progress and classroom expectations.

Participate in professional development and contribute to a supportive school culture.
Qualifications
-
Bachelor’s degree in Education, English, Literature, or a related field.

Valid teaching certification or eligibility to obtain certification in Texas.

Minimum of 2 years of teaching experience preferred, particularly at the secondary level.

Strong knowledge of English literature and writing instruction.

Excellent classroom management and communication skills.

Passion for helping students develop a love for reading, writing, and critical thinking.

Additional qualifications include:

A degree equivalent to a U.S. bachelor’s degree in Education, English, or a related subject.

Teaching credentials in your home country for secondary education.
