A public charter school in California is seeking a compassionate and experienced Bilingual Elementary Special Education Teacher (English/Spanish) for the 2026–2027 academic year. This role focuses on supporting elementary students with diverse learning needs through individualized instruction, collaboration with general education teachers, and the effective implementation of Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) in both English and Spanish.

Fluency in both English and Spanish is required.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver specialized instruction aligned to students’ Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)

  • Provide academic, behavioral, and social-emotional support to elementary students with diverse learning needs

  • Support instruction in both English and Spanish, based on student needs

  • Collaborate closely with general education teachers to implement accommodations and modifications in inclusive classroom settings

  • Monitor student progress using data and adjust instruction accordingly

  • Participate in IEP meetings, progress monitoring, and required documentation

  • Implement developmentally appropriate, inclusive, and culturally responsive teaching practices

  • Foster a safe, nurturing, and structured classroom environment

  • Communicate effectively with families and caregivers in support of student growth

  • Participate in professional development, team meetings, and school-wide initiatives

Requirements

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Special Education, Education, or a related field

  • Degree must be equivalent to a U.S. bachelor’s degree

  • Master’s degree in Special Education preferred

Experience

  • Minimum of two years of full-time teaching experience

  • Experience in Special Education required

  • Experience in elementary and/or bilingual settings strongly preferred

Skills & Qualifications

  • Fluency in English and Spanish (required)

  • Strong understanding of elementary special education instructional strategies and IEP implementation

  • Ability to differentiate instruction and support a range of learning needs

  • Strong classroom management, collaboration, and communication skills

  • Comfort using educational technology for instruction and progress monitoring
