A private elementary school in Hoboken, NJ is seeking a passionate and skilled Art Teacher for the 2025–2026 academic year. This full-time role begins in August 2025 and follows a standard school-year calendar.
About the Role
The ideal candidate will bring creativity, a strong understanding of art education for young learners, and the ability to foster an inclusive, engaging, and culturally responsive classroom environment. You will collaborate with classroom teachers and fellow art faculty to deliver a curriculum that promotes hands-on learning, guided discussions, and the development of artistic skill and expression.
Key Responsibilities

Deliver a dynamic, resource-rich art curriculum for elementary students

Lead engaging demonstrations, student-led discussions, and hands-on projects

Collaborate with class teachers and art faculty across campuses to ensure alignment

Use diverse assessment strategies such as projects and presentations

Integrate educational technology (Mac-based, Google Suite, Smart Panels, Chromebooks)

Manage and update student portfolios using the Artsonia platform

Write student progress reports and maintain communication with families

Contribute to school events, faculty meetings, and extracurricular activities
Candidate Profile

Bachelor’s degree required; teaching certification preferred

Prior experience teaching art to elementary-aged children

Strong classroom management and communication skills

Culturally competent and committed to inclusive teaching practices

Proficient with instructional technology tools
Position Requirements

Arrival by 8:15 a.m.

Attendance at weekly faculty meetings, parent-teacher conferences, and select evening events

Participation in grade-level field trips and overnight excursions as applicable

Involvement in start-of-year and end-of-year staff planning meetings
Compensation & Benefits

Salary Range: $50,400 – $73,500, based on experience
