About the Role:
This innovative and progressive charter school in Brooklyn is seeking a passionate and dedicated Upper Elementary ICT (Integrated Co-Teaching) Teacher for the 2025 school year. In this role, you will work collaboratively with a general education teacher to support students with Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) in an inclusive classroom setting.
The ideal candidate will be deeply committed to equity and access, bringing creativity, adaptability, and strong knowledge of special education practices. You will help ensure all students — including those with diverse learning needs — are supported, challenged, and set up for success both academically and socially.
Key Responsibilities:

Co-teach with a general education teacher to deliver engaging, standards-aligned lessons that meet the needs of both general education students and students with IEPs.

Differentiate instruction and provide targeted interventions to ensure equitable access to the curriculum.

Implement accommodations and modifications as outlined in students’ IEPs.

Use data-driven instructional strategies to monitor progress and adjust teaching practices to meet student needs.

Foster a positive and inclusive classroom culture that values diversity, perseverance, and collaboration.

Communicate regularly with families, service providers, and related staff regarding student progress and strategies for support.

Collaborate with colleagues to plan interdisciplinary units and school-wide initiatives.

Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to ongoing professional development focused on inclusive practices.
Requirements:

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Education or Special Education (Master’s degree preferred).

Certification: New York State certification in Students with Disabilities (SWD) or Special Education required.

Experience: Minimum of 2 years of teaching experience, preferably in an ICT or inclusive classroom setting.

Skills:

Strong knowledge of special education practices, IEP implementation, and differentiation strategies.

Ability to collaborate effectively with co-teachers, support staff, and families.

Excellent classroom management and communication skills.

Additional qualifications include:

A degree equivalent to a U.S. bachelor’s degree in education or a related subject.

Teaching qualifications in your home country for primary or elementary schools.

At least two years of full-time teaching experience (or equivalent).
