About the Role
A high-performing charter school in the Bronx, New York is seeking a passionate and dedicated Middle/High School Special Education Teacher for the 2026–2027 academic year.
The ideal candidate is a student-centered educator with experience supporting students with diverse learning needs and implementing individualized educational programs (IEPs). This teacher will work closely with general education teachers, families, and support staff to ensure all students have access to a rigorous and inclusive educational experience.
The school is looking for an educator who is committed to high expectations, strong relationships, and helping every student achieve academic success.
The school will not be covering visa related costs for the teacher.
Key Responsibilities

Provide specialized instruction and support to students with disabilities in middle and/or high school grades

Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)

Collaborate with general education teachers to ensure appropriate accommodations and modifications are implemented

Use assessment and student performance data to inform instruction and intervention strategies

Deliver small-group and individualized instruction based on student needs

Maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with special education regulations

Build positive relationships with students, families, and colleagues

Participate actively in school-wide initiatives, professional development, and collaborative planning
Qualifications

Bachelor's degree required

Degree in Special Education, Education, or a related field preferred

Valid teaching qualification/licensure in Special Education preferred

Previous experience teaching students with special needs strongly preferred

Strong understanding of differentiated instruction and inclusive teaching practices

Excellent classroom management, communication, and collaboration skills

Passion for supporting diverse learners and helping students reach their full potential
