About the Role
A mission-driven charter school in Rochester, New York is seeking a passionate and engaging Math Teacher to join its team for the 2025–2026 school year. This position will support students in grades 7–12 and may include instruction in subjects such as Pre-Algebra, Algebra, Geometry, Algebra II, or other secondary mathematics courses depending on school needs and candidate expertise.

Key Responsibilities

Deliver engaging, standards-aligned math instruction for students in grades 7–12.

Develop lesson plans that build conceptual understanding, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.

Create a positive classroom environment that promotes curiosity, perseverance, and academic confidence.

Differentiate instruction to support students with varying learning needs and skill levels.

Use assessments and student performance data to monitor progress and guide instructional decisions.

Incorporate educational technology and interactive learning strategies into daily instruction.

Collaborate closely with colleagues, administrators, and families to support student achievement and development.

Maintain high academic and behavioral expectations while fostering an inclusive and supportive classroom culture.

Participate actively in professional development, team meetings, and school-wide initiatives.
Requirements
Education

Bachelor’s degree in Education, Mathematics, or a related field required

Master’s degree preferred
Experience
-
Minimum of 2 years of classroom teaching experience preferred

Experience teaching middle school and/or high school mathematics strongly preferred
Skills

Strong instructional and classroom management abilities

Ability to create engaging and rigorous math lessons

Excellent communication and organizational skills

Familiarity with educational technology and data-driven instruction
