A public charter school in North Carolina is seeking a dedicated and student-centered Exceptional Children Instructional Coach (Special Education Teacher) for the 2026โ2027 academic year.
This role is ideal for educators who are passionate about supporting students with diverse learning needs and have experience working within inclusive school environments. The successful candidate will play a key role in delivering individualized support, ensuring compliance with special education requirements, and collaborating closely with teachers and families to drive student success.

๐ Key Responsibilities
- Deliver specialized instruction aligned to studentsโ Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
- Develop, implement, and update IEPs in compliance with state and federal guidelines
- Provide academic, behavioral, and social-emotional support to students with diverse learning needs
- Collaborate closely with general education teachers to implement accommodations and modifications
- Monitor student progress using data and adjust instruction accordingly
- Support students through small group, one-to-one, and in-class instruction
- Participate in IEP meetings, documentation, and compliance processes
- Foster a structured, inclusive, and supportive learning environment
- Communicate effectively with students, families, and colleagues
- Contribute to a collaborative, team-oriented school culture

Education
- Bachelorโs degree in Special Education, Education, or a related field
- Degree must be equivalent to a U.S. bachelorโs degree
Experience
- Minimum of 2 years of full-time teaching experience preferred
- Experience working with students with additional learning needs required
Skills & Qualifications
- Strong understanding of special education practices and IEP implementation
- Ability to differentiate instruction across a range of learning needs
- Strong classroom management, collaboration, and communication skills
- Ability to work effectively in inclusive and team-based environments
- Comfort using instructional and progress-monitoring technology
